Broken Rites

Okay kiddo, broken rites is a topic that's a bit complicated and can be hard for grown-ups to understand sometimes too. Basically, it's when someone who is supposed to be a leader or teacher in a religion or church doesn't follow the rules or does something wrong.

For example, sometimes priests or pastors might do things like hurt people or say mean things or lie. This is really bad because they're supposed to be helping people and leading them in a good way.

When someone in a religious position does something wrong, it can hurt a lot of people and cause a lot of problems. Broken rites is a term used to describe these situations when leaders do wrong things in a religious context.

It's important for grown-ups to remember that just because someone is a leader or teacher in a religion doesn't mean they're always right or good. We should always try to do good things and help others, no matter what position we're in.
