ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Brook Taylor

Okay kiddo, so have you ever tried counting how many toys you have? You might have thought that you can count them one by one, right? But what if I told you that there is a shortcut to count them quickly? That's where Brook Taylor comes in.

Brook Taylor was a very smart man who lived a long time ago. He discovered something called Taylor's Theorem. This theorem helps us count things that are very tough to count on their own.

It's kind of like having a magic formula that helps us count things faster. Just like how you might use your fingers to count fast, Taylor's Theorem helps mathematicians count things (such as curves and shapes) that are too difficult to count using our fingers.

So Brook Taylor discovered a cool trick that makes counting things in math easier - sort of like magic!
