Buchan trap

A buchan trap is a special kind of insect trap that scientists use to catch and study bugs (like mosquitoes or flies). Imagine a small little house made out of wood or plastic, with a tiny little door and a roof that looks like a tent. Inside this house, there is a special kind of food that the bugs really like, called bait. Scientists put the bait inside the house and leave it out in nature where the bugs live. The bugs are attracted to the smell of the bait, so they fly towards the house and try to get inside. When they do, they get trapped in a small compartment inside the house. The scientists can then come back later to collect the bugs and study them to learn more about them. So, a buchan trap is like a little house for bugs with food inside, where scientists can catch and study them!
