Buddha images in Thailand

Buddha is a very important figure to many people in Thailand. They believe that he was a wise and kind teacher who showed people how to be happy and live peaceful lives. In order to honor him and keep his teachings alive, people in Thailand often make statues of him. These statues are called Buddha images.

Buddha images can be made of many different materials such as bronze, gold, or marble. They usually have a certain pose that represents different characteristics of Buddha, such as wisdom or compassion. Some statues are very large and can be found in temples or outdoor areas. Others are small and can fit in the palm of your hand.

When Thai people see a Buddha image, they often feel a sense of calm and respect. They might say a prayer or make an offering of flowers or incense. Buddhists believe that by honoring the image of Buddha, they are also honoring his teachings and the positive qualities he represents.

It is important to note that while Buddha images are common in Thailand, they are not worshipped as gods. Buddha is not seen as a deity, but rather a guide and teacher who showed people how to live a good life.
