Building-Integrated Agriculture (BIA) is when people grow food in or around buildings. This means growing crops or raising animals for food on rooftops or in other parts of buildings (like balconies, courtyards, walls, etc.). This is different from regular farming because the crops and animals are grown in and around people's homes and workplaces instead of in a field. For example, instead of a farmer growing crops in a field out in the countryside, you might see a person growing plants in a pot on their balcony in the city! BIA helps people provide food for themselves, connect with nature and save money.
