ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Bungee jumping

Bungee jumping is when people jump off of very high things, like bridges or tall platforms, while attached to a special cord. The cord is a long, stretchy piece of rubber that can stretch and bounce back. It’s kind of like stretching a rubber band before letting go.

When people jump off the high thing, the cord stretches and pulls them up into the air, like a big, fun swing. The cord then bounces them up and down until they come to a stop. It’s like a bouncy castle, but way higher up in the air and with more jumping!

The cord is very strong and can hold the weight of the person jumping. It’s also very important for the person jumping to follow all the rules and safety instructions from the people in charge of the jumping area.

Bungee jumping is a super fun and thrilling activity for people who love adventure and excitement. But, it’s super important to make sure it’s done safely so that nobody gets hurt.
