Okay kiddo, so you know how sometimes people do things to remember or celebrate something? Well, the burning of Judas is one of those things. It's an old tradition that happens during the Easter holiday.
Now, who was Judas? Judas was one of the people who followed Jesus a long, long time ago. But, he did a bad thing and betrayed Jesus by helping some bad guys catch him. This led to Jesus being killed, which was very sad.
So, why do people burn a Judas? Well, some people like to remember how Judas did something wrong and caused Jesus to die. They burn an effigy (a big doll) that is made to look like Judas, which is kind of like a pretend Judas. It is done to symbolically get rid of all the bad stuff that Judas did.
In some places, people take it a step further and fill the Judas doll with firecrackers or pyrotechnics. When the doll is lit on fire, it makes a big noise and everyone cheers, because it's kind of like saying goodbye to all the bad stuff that Judas did. It is also seen as a way to say that the bad guys don't win in the end, because even though Judas helped them, Jesus still came back from the dead and forgave everyone.
So there you have it, kiddo! The burning of Judas is a way to remember history, get rid of bad stuff, and celebrate that good can always win over bad.
