Bursty bulk flow

Okay kiddo, imagine you have a bunch of marbles in a tube. Sometimes these marbles move slowly and steadily through the tube, and sometimes they move really fast in a bunch all together. This is kind of like how things move through a pipe in our bodies called blood vessels.

Sometimes, things like water, blood, or nutrients move through our blood vessels slowly and steadily, but sometimes they move really fast all at once, like a bunch of marbles. We call this bursty bulk flow.

Sometimes, our body needs to move a lot of something quickly to a certain spot. Bursty bulk flow helps with this. It's like the marbles all rushing through the tube at once to get to a certain spot really fast. It can help our bodies send important things where they need to go quickly, which can be really helpful!
