C.S.A.: The Confederate States of America

The Confederate States of America (CSA) was a group of states in the United States that didn’t like some of the laws that the government was making, so they decided to make their own country with different laws. They didn’t like a law that said they couldn’t own other people as slaves, so they made a law that said it was okay to own slaves. This caused a big war between the United States and the Confederate States, called the Civil War. The United States won and slavery was abolished, meaning people couldn’t own other people anymore. Even though it happened a long time ago, we still talk about the CSA because it was an important and difficult time in our history.
