The Cadet Nurse Corps was a group of young women who wanted to become nurses during World War II. The war made it very difficult for hospitals to find enough nurses to take care of all the sick and injured soldiers. So, the government decided to make a group of women called Cadet Nurses to help out.
Being a Cadet Nurse was kind of like going to school. The women would take classes to learn how to be a nurse while also helping out at hospitals. They learned cool things like how to take care of sick people, give them shots, and even how to deliver babies.
It wasn't all fun and games, though. Being a Cadet Nurse was tough work. The women had to go to school for a long time and work long hours at the hospital, often taking care of people who were very sick or injured.
But even though it was hard work, the Cadet Nurses were very important to the war effort. Without them, hospitals would have had a really hard time taking care of all the soldiers who needed help. They were heroes in their own way!
