California Indian Wars

In California long ago, before there were cities and technology like we have today, there were many different groups of people who lived there. They were called Native Americans or American Indians. They had their own ways of living, like hunting, farming, and making things out of nature around them.

But some other people came from far away and wanted to take their land and resources. They were called settlers, and they came with weapons and soldiers. The settlers thought they were better than the Native Americans and didn't want to share the land.

This made some Native Americans very angry and they fought back to protect their land and their way of life. These were called the California Indian Wars. The fights happened for many years and many Native Americans died trying to protect their homes.

Eventually, the settlers won and took over most of the land in California. The Native Americans were forced to leave their homes and had to live in new places called reservations. It was a sad time in California's history and important to remember and honor the Native Americans who fought to protect their land.
