ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Camunic language

Okay kiddo, so there are many different languages in the world that people use to communicate with each other. One of these languages is called "Camunic". Camunic is a really old language that was spoken by people who lived in a place called the Central Alps a long, long time ago.

Now, when we say "language", we mean a way that people use sounds, words, and symbols to talk to each other and share ideas. Camunic was different from the languages that we know today because it used symbols and pictures instead of letters and words. These symbols were drawn onto rocks, walls, and other surfaces, and they were used to tell stories and share information.

Just like when we learn our ABCs, the people who spoke Camunic knew all the symbols and what they meant. They could draw them out and use them to say things like "I saw a deer in the forest" or "Let's go fishing tomorrow".

The interesting thing about Camunic is that no one really speaks it anymore. That's because the people who used to speak it a long time ago are no longer around. But, we can still study the symbols and pictures that they used and try to understand their meaning. It's like we're trying to decode a secret message from a long time ago!

So, that's what Camunic is all about, kiddo. It's a language that was used a long, long time ago that uses symbols and pictures to tell stories and share information. While no one still speaks it today, we can still learn from it and use it to understand more about the people who used to live in the Central Alps.
