Canadian Parliament Buildings

Okay kiddo, so imagine a big castle in the middle of a city. This is what the Canadian Parliament Buildings look like! They are where important people called politicians go to work and make big decisions that affect our whole country.

There are three main buildings in the Canadian Parliament Buildings: the Centre Block, the East Block, and the West Block. They are all connected by walkways and tunnels, so the politicians can easily get from one building to another without being bothered by bad weather.

The biggest and most important building is the Centre Block. Inside, there is a big room called the House of Commons, where members of Parliament (we call them MPs) sit and argue about new ideas and laws. There is also another big room called the Senate, where special people called Senators debate and vote on laws.

You might be wondering who works in the Canadian Parliament Buildings- well, there are lots of people who help the politicians! There are clerks who keep track of all the important documents, security guards who make sure the buildings are safe, and cooks who make meals for the politicians.

So that's it, kiddo- the Canadian Parliament Buildings are like a big castle where important people make big decisions for our whole country!
