Cap analysis of gene expression

So you know how our bodies have lots and lots of cells? And each cell has special instructions inside it that tells it what to do? Like some cells might be in charge of making your eyes work or helping you digest your food.

Well, the instructions inside each cell are called genes. And scientists want to study these genes to see what they do and how they work. That's where cap analysis of gene expression (CAGE) comes in!

CAGE is like a special tool that scientists can use to look at all the different genes in a cell and see which ones are being used the most. It works by looking at a special part of the gene called the "cap," which tells the cell where to start reading the instructions.

When a cell uses a gene to do something, it creates a special molecule called mRNA. CAGE can look at all the different mRNA molecules in a cell and figure out where they came from. By doing this, scientists can see which genes are being used the most, which ones are turned on and off at different times, and how different cells in our bodies are related to each other.

So, in a way, CAGE is like a detective tool for studying genes and how they help our bodies work!
