ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Capabilities approach

The capabilities approach is a way to think about how we can promote well-being and equality of all people. It argues that we should focus on what people can do and have, rather than just on their money and possessions. This means looking at things like people's ability to get an education, access healthcare, have freedom, and other important things. It also means focusing on things like supporting people who are disabled, making sure everyone has equal opportunities, and helping those who are disadvantaged. Basically, the capabilities approach is about making sure everyone has the same opportunities to lead a happy and fulfilled life.
