Cape Cod

Cape Cod is a special place by the ocean in Massachusetts. It's like a big arm that sticks out into the water, kind of like how your arm sticks out of your body when you want to wave.

Cape Cod is really long, it's about 70 miles long! And it's really special because it has lots of beaches and places to swim and play in the sand. It's like one big playground for people who love the ocean.

Lots of people go to Cape Cod on vacation in the summertime, when it's sunny and warm. They might stay in a special house, called a "cottage," or a hotel that's close to the beach. There are also lots of restaurants where you can get yummy seafood like fish and lobster and clams.

Cape Cod has a lot of history too! Hundreds of years ago, a group of people called the Pilgrims came to Cape Cod from England on a ship called the Mayflower. They were searching for a new place to live where they could have freedom to practice their own religion. They didn't stay on Cape Cod for very long, but they helped start a new colony in a nearby place called Plymouth.

Today, people still go to Cape Cod to explore the history and learn about the Pilgrims. They can visit a museum or even see a replica of the Mayflower ship!

So Cape Cod is a really special place by the ocean where you can play in the sand, swim in the water, eat yummy seafood, and learn about history. It's a great place to visit!
