The Carr–Benkler wager is an argument between two people, Clay Shirky and Yochai Benkler. Clay argued that new technologies like the internet will not drastically change the way we do business, while Yochai argued that new technologies will have a big impact on how business is done. They each bet the other person $100 on who was right. Now, almost 20 years later, we know that Yochai was right, and new technologies like the internet have revolutionised business. Clay’s $100 went to Yochai and Yochai won the wager.
