ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Caspian languages

Caspian languages are a group of languages spoken in the region around the Caspian Sea, which is a really big sea that's between Europe and Asia. Imagine a big bowl filled with water and countries around it.

Some of the languages that are part of this group include Azerbaijani, Kurdish, and Ossetian. These people have been living in the area for a very, very long time and they have different languages that they use to communicate with each other.

Even though these languages are all grouped together because they come from the same region, they are still different from each other, just like how different people speak different languages in different parts of the world. But they all have some similarities too, like how they have certain sounds and word patterns that are common within the group.

So think of Caspian languages as a big family of languages that are all related to each other, even if they're not exactly the same.
