During World War II, Nazi Germany was a very bad country. They wanted to control and harm many people, especially Jewish people. However, some people did not agree with the Nazis and did not want to do what they said. Some of these people were Catholics.
Catholics are special people who believe in God and go to church. They have something called the Church, which is like a big group of people who follow the same beliefs. During the war, the Church told Catholics that they should not support the Nazis because they were doing bad things. This was called Catholic resistance.
Catholics who were part of the resistance did many good things. For example, they helped Jewish people by hiding them and giving them food and shelter. Some even risked their own lives to do this because they knew it was the right thing to do.
In Germany, there was a man named Dietrich Bonhoeffer who was also part of the Catholic resistance. He helped to organize groups of people who wanted to stop the Nazi government. Unfortunately, he was caught and killed by the Nazis for his actions.
Although it was very dangerous to be part of the resistance, Catholics believed that they were doing what God wanted them to do. They wanted to help people who were being hurt and stand up against evil. This is why Catholic resistance was very important during World War II.
