ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Cell division

Cell division is what makes all living things grow, stay healthy and replace old parts of the body. It's a process that each cell in your body goes through to make more cells. It starts with one cell and then it splits into two. These two cells will then each split again into two more, and then those two split into four, and so on. Eventually there will be a lot of cells and each one is exactly the same as the original cell. Each cell is specially designed to do a specific job, like muscle cells to help us move, or brain cells to help us think and remember things. Cell division helps us stay healthy and strong!
