ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Cement

Cement is like glue for buildings and other big things. It helps hold them together so they don't fall apart.

You know the sand you build sandcastles with at the beach? Cement is made from sand too, but in a very special way.

Imagine mixing sand, water, and glue together. The glue makes the sand stick together and form a big lump. That's kinda what happens with cement.

But instead of glue, they use something called 'cement powder' that looks like flour. People mix the powder with water to make a paste.

Then they pour the paste into big molds and let it dry. Once it dries, it's hard like a rock!

After that, people can use the hard cement pieces to build things like roads, bridges, and houses. It's pretty cool, huh?
