Censorship of GitHub in China

Okay kiddo, so do you know what GitHub is? It's a website where people can store and share computer code, and work together on projects.

Well, in China, the government sometimes decides to block certain websites so people can't access them. And one of the websites they decided to block was GitHub.

The reason they did this is because sometimes people use GitHub to share things that the Chinese government doesn't like, like information or tools to avoid internet censorship. The government really wants to control what people can see on the internet, so they don't let people use GitHub.

It's kind of like if your mom or dad said you couldn't play with a certain toy because they didn't like it, even if you really wanted to play with it. But in this case, it's the Chinese government being like a parent to their citizens.

Some people in China can still access GitHub by using special tools called VPNs, but not everyone knows how to use them, or they might be afraid of getting in trouble with the government.

Overall, it's not fair that people in China can't use GitHub like people in other countries can, but it's all because of the way their government decides to control the internet.
