Center for the Built Environment

The Center for the Built Environment (CBE) is a place where scientists and engineers study how people live and work in the spaces they inhabit. The CBE works to ensure the places we live, work, and play are healthy, safe, and sustainable. Scientists and engineers use the CBE to research how things like air quality, noise levels, and building materials affect people's health and well-being. By studying the environments we live in and the materials used to build them, the CBE works to make sure our spaces are designed in ways that make us healthier.
