Hello little buddy! So, a centered set means we have something in the middle that we care about and everything else is either moving towards it or moving away from it.
For example, imagine a balloon in your hand. The air inside the balloon is our centered set. The air particles inside the balloon are attracted to each other and they all try to get as close to the center of the balloon as possible. On the other hand, the air particles outside the balloon are not really paying attention to the air inside the balloon, and they are moving randomly in all directions.
In other words, if we have something that we care about and we want to attract things that are similar to it, we use a centered set. We make sure everything that is moving towards our center is similar to our center and everything that is moving away is dissimilar.
Does that make sense, kiddo?
