Central American migrant caravans

Okay kiddo, so you know how sometimes people move from one place to another because they want to live in a better place or because they're in danger in their own home? Well, imagine a lot of people doing that together, like a big group walking together. That's what a migrant caravan is.

Now, this migrant caravan we're talking about is made up of people from Central America, which is a group of countries located in the middle of North and South America. These people are moving to another country called the United States.

The people in the caravan are leaving their homes because their countries are not safe for them to stay in. There is a lot of violence, poverty, and political unrest going on there, and they're looking for a better life.

But, it's not easy to just go to another country. They have to travel through different countries, cross borders and deal with a lot of challenges like lack of food or water, exhaustion, and dangerous roads.

That's why they travel together in a caravan because it's safer and they can help each other out.

When they reach the U.S. border, they want to ask for asylum, which means some help and protection from the American government. But, things are not that easy, and sometimes they have to wait for a long time, and some of them may not be allowed to enter the country, which can be very hard for them.

So, that's what a Central American migrant caravan is, a group of people walking together to try and find safety and a better life in another country.
