Ceramography is a way of studying small pieces of ceramic materials in order to learn about them. First, the material is cut into very small pieces (or slices), and then the slices are placed on a metal plate, so that each slice is flat and can be looked at under a microscope. To make the slices easier to study, scientists can color them with a special type of dye that makes it easier to see different parts of the material. Finally, using a microscope and a camera, scientists can take pictures of the slices and put them together to study the structure of the material, how it is made, and how it works.
