Certified check

A certified check is a special type of check that is verified by a bank to make sure that the person who wrote the check has enough money in their account to cover the amount of the check.

Think of it like having a cake that you want to share with your friends. Before you can give your friends a piece of cake, you need to make sure that you have enough cake to share with everyone. The bank is like the person who checks to make sure you have enough cake before you start giving it away.

To get a certified check, you need to go to your bank and ask them to certify the check. The bank will then take the money out of your account and hold it until the check is cashed by the person you gave it to. This makes sure that the person who receives the check can be confident that they will be able to get their money when they cash the check.

Just like making sure you have enough cake to share with your friends, getting a certified check is a responsible thing to do if you want to make sure you can pay someone the money you owe them.
