Chain murders of Iran
Okay kiddo, there were some really bad things that happened in Iran many years ago. Some people were being killed one after the other in a way that was kind of like a chain. So that's why it's called the chain murders.
Some bad people who were in charge of the government at that time didn't like it when other people spoke up about things they didn't like. And unfortunately, some of those people who spoke up were journalists and intellectuals who just wanted to make things better.
So these bad people decided to send some other bad people to go and hurt these journalists and intellectuals. They would be taken from their homes, tortured, and then killed. It was a really scary time for anyone who spoke up against the government.
Thankfully, people eventually found out what was happening and they were able to make things better. But it's important to remember that we should always be able to speak up about things we don't like without being scared for our safety.
