Chainplate

A chainplate is like a big metal hook that is attached to the side of a boat. It's used to hold the ropes and wires that help control the sails. It's kind of like a big metal anchor that keeps everything in place and makes sure the sailboat can move and turn properly. The chainplate is very important for keeping everyone on the boat safe and making sure the sailboat works the way it's supposed to.
