Chaotian (geology)

Chaotian is a fancy word that geologists use to describe really messy and chaotic places on other planets, like Mars. It's kind of like when you make a really big mess in your room and everything is all jumbled up and mixed together.

In the case of chaotian, it is believed to be caused by a certain type of geological process that happens on other planets, called "catastrophic collapse". This basically means that huge pieces of rock and dirt fall down and create a big mess, kind of like when a sandcastle falls apart.

These chaotic places can be pretty interesting for geologists to study because they can give clues about what the landscape of other planets used to look like and how they have changed over time. But for now, we can just think of chaotian as a really messy and confusing place on other planets!
