ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Chartered Statistician

A chartered statistician is someone who is really good at using numbers to understand and explain things. They are like detectives who use lots of clues to solve a mystery. Instead of trying to find out who did a bad thing like in a mystery, chartered statisticians try to figure out how things work in the world around us.

They use lots of different tools to do this like graphs, tables, and equations. They also know how to collect big sets of data (which is just a lot of numbers and information) so that they can study them and try to find patterns. This helps them make predictions about what might happen in the future or explain why things happened in the past.

Being a chartered statistician means that they have proven they are really good at their job by passing important tests and getting special certifications. They can then use their skills to help all kinds of people and organizations like businesses, doctors, and scientists who want to understand the world better.
