Chaupal (public space)

Okay kiddo, have you ever heard of a place where people can come together and talk, share their thoughts, and get some work done? That's called a chaupal!

So imagine a big open space in the middle of a village or community where everyone can gather around and sit on a mat or a bench. It's usually under a big tree or a shade to keep everyone cool on a hot day.

People come to a chaupal to talk about different things like their daily life, share news or gossip , or discuss any important issue affecting the community. Sometimes, government officials or social workers also come to a chaupal to address certain problems or give important information.

So the chaupal is like a public forum where ideas and opinions can be shared and problems can be solved. It's a place where everyone is equal, and everyone's voice matters.

In summary, chaupal is an open space where people come together to talk, share their thoughts, and get some work done. It's a place where everyone is equal, and everyone's voice matters.
