Chemical gardening is an experiment that uses chemicals to help make plants grow. In this experiment, you mix together a few chemicals in water. The chemicals react with each other, and this reaction produces a thick white foam called 'precipitate.' The precipitate is made up of a few compounds, including a kind of crystal called cryolite. The cryolite helps the plant grow. The foam floats on the top of the water and looks like a garden, so it's called a chemical garden. You can watch it grow over time - the foam will hold pieces of seeds and then the plants will grow out of it. So, it's like having a real garden without having to put in the work of planting!
