Chemical graph

A chemical graph is like a picture that shows us how different atoms are connected to each other in a molecule.

So let's imagine we are playing with little balls, and each ball is a different element. For example, we have red balls for oxygen, black balls for carbon, and white balls for hydrogen.

Now we are going to connect these balls with sticks, which represent the chemical bonds between them. So if we want to create a molecule of water, we would take two hydrogen balls and one oxygen ball. We would then connect one hydrogen ball to one side of the oxygen ball and the other hydrogen ball to the other side of the oxygen ball, using sticks to join them together.

This is what a chemical graph looks like - it shows how the different atoms are connected to each other. The oxygen ball in the middle is connected to two hydrogen balls by sticks, and the hydrogen balls are connected to the oxygen ball by sticks too.

So chemical graphs allow us to see exactly how molecules are built up and how the atoms are connected to each other. They are very useful for chemists because they can help them understand how different chemicals behave and how they can be changed or manipulated.
