Cheshire Brine Subsidence Compensation Board

The Cheshire Brine Subsidence Compensation Board is a group of people whose job it is to help people who have had their homes or land damaged because of something called “subsidence”. Subsidence means that the ground you are living on is sinking. In Cheshire, some of the soil is very soft, so it can sink or cave in if too much water is taken out of it. That can cause damage to people's homes and land. The Subsidence Compensation Board helps people whose homes or land has been damaged because of subsidence by giving them money to repair their homes or restore their land.
