Chinese archery

Okay kiddo, so Chinese archery is like when you shoot arrows with a bow, but the way they do it is really cool and different from other types of archery.

Firstly, the bow they use is called a "recurve bow". This means that the ends of the bow are curved away from the archer, which helps when aiming and shooting.

Secondly, they use a thumb ring on their creating hand. This keeps their fingers from getting hurt when they pull the bow string back. It also helps them control the bow better so they can shoot more accurately.

Thirdly, they don't hold the bow like most other archers do. Instead of holding it in the middle, they hold it lower down, closer to the bowstring. This helps them shoot faster and more accurately too.

And finally, they have a really cool way of releasing the arrow. They use a technique called "pushing the arrow off the thumb". Instead of pulling the arrow back and then letting go, they push the arrow off their thumb, almost like flicking it. This gives the arrow extra speed and power.

So that's Chinese archery in a nutshell! It's a little different from regular archery, but it looks really cool and can be a lot of fun to learn.
