Chirped Pulse Amplification (CPA) is a way of making a laser beam stronger. It is done by sending the laser beam through a special device which makes the light beam move faster by changing its wavelength, called "chirps". Then, the beam is reflected back through the device which makes it even more powerful before it comes out the other side. The result is a much brighter beam than the one that went in. it's like if you wear a special kind of glasses and the world suddenly looks brighter and sharper!
