Chorology

Okay kiddo, chorology is like a big puzzle of where things are in the world. It’s like a map that tells us where different animals, plants and other living things are found in different areas. Scientists use it to understand the patterns of life on Earth.

Imagine there’s a game where you have to find where different animals live, and you get points for finding them. That’s kind of what chorology is like, but it’s not just a game. It helps scientists understand how animals and plants live in different areas, and how they’re connected to each other.

For example, you might think that all kangaroos live in Australia. But if you looked at a chorology map, you’d see that there are also kangaroos in Papua New Guinea and Indonesia. You’d also see that some places have many different types of kangaroos, while other places only have one or two kinds.

So chorology helps us understand how the world is put together, and how different living things fit in. It’s like figuring out how all the different puzzle pieces go together.
