Chrismation

Have you ever gone to church and seen someone get baptized? Well, after someone gets baptized it's kind of like getting a new name. And when someone gets a new name, they also get a special oil put on them called chrism. This oil is used in something called chrismation (pronounced kris-may-shun). Chrismation is like a special blessing that helps the person who got baptized become closer to God. It's kind of like a way for them to feel extra special and loved by God. The person getting chrismated will have the oil put on their forehead, eyes, nose, ears, chest, hands, and feet. This is a nice symbol of becoming more connected to God and being blessed.
