ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Chronological snobbery

Chronological snobbery is when people think that newer ideas or things are automatically better or more important than older ones just because they're newer. It's like a little kid who thinks that they're smarter than their grandparents because they've grown up with computers and smartphones, while their grandparents remember a time before those things even existed. But just because something is older doesn't mean it's not important or valuable. In fact, sometimes older things can be really meaningful because they've been around for a long time and have a lot of history behind them. So it's important to appreciate both new and old things, and not just think that one is better than the other because of when it was made.
