Chronotope is like a magic box that tells you where and when a story is happening.

Imagine you’re telling a story about a beautiful princess who lives in a big castle. When you describe the castle and the princess, you’re creating a SPACE chronotope.

But it’s not just about where the story is happening, it’s also about WHEN it’s happening. So, if you say the princess lives in the castle a long time ago, when knights and dragons roamed the land, you’re creating a TIME chronotope too.

The combination of space and time create the chronotope – it’s like a time machine that takes you to a different place and time, just by telling a story. And that’s how chronotopes work!
