ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Chunking (psychology)

Chunking is a way for your brain to store important information. Instead of trying to remember a lot of different things all at once, chunking means breaking the information down into smaller 'chunks' or pieces. For example, if someone gave you 10 numbers to remember, it would be hard to remember them all by heart. But if you group the numbers into chunks of three or four, it'll be easier to remember each group of numbers. Chunking is a helpful way to remember things, especially when you have a lot of information to remember.
