Imagine you have a big circle, like a pizza, and you want to put as many little circles on it as you can, like pepperoni slices. You have to be careful not to overlap them and you want to fit as many as you can.
To start, you put one little circle in the middle of the big circle. Then you can put more little circles around it, like petals on a flower. If you put them close together, you can fit more, but if you put them too close, they'll overlap and you don't want that. So you have to space them out just right.
You keep adding more and more little circles, always trying to fit them in snugly with their neighbors without letting them overlap. It's like doing a big puzzle!
Eventually, you'll run out of space and won't be able to fit any more little circles. But you'll have a pretty cool design of a big circle covered in lots of little circles.
