Circumcision in the Bible

In the Bible, God gives an instruction to "circumcise" or cut off the foreskin of baby boys when they are 8 days old. This isn't done for medical reasons - it's done to show that the baby boy and his family are choosing to follow God's instructions. The cutting off of the foreskin is a sign of their faith and obedience. It's a way of saying that they want to be part of God's family.
