ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Citationality

Citationality is like giving credit where credit is due. You know when you draw a pretty picture and you want to show it to everyone but you also have to say that you got the idea from your friend? That's what citationality means! It's making sure that when you use someone else's work or ideas, you give them credit and say where you got it from. Just like how you would say "thanks for the idea, friend" when you show your picture. It's important to do this so that the person who came up with the idea or did the work feels appreciated and so people know where the information came from. Plus, it helps you not get in trouble for using other people's work without permission!
