Cittern

Cittern is a type of stringed instrument. It's like a small guitar. It has a big, round body, with strings that run up and down the neck. The strings make sound when you pluck them with your fingers or a pick. You can play different notes or chords by pressing your fingers on different frets (the metal bars along the neck). Citterns usually have five or six strings, and can make a lovely, different-sounding music.
