Civil decoration

Civil decoration is when people get recognized for doing something really great or important for their community or country. It’s kind of like getting a gold star for being extra good at school, but much much bigger!

Let’s say your grandpa was a soldier and he did something really brave during a war to help other soldiers. The government might decide that he deserves a special award called a civil decoration.

There are lots of different types of civil decorations, but they all come with a fancy medal or badge that people can wear on their clothing to show off their awesome achievement. Sometimes the decorations even come with a special ceremony where important people like the president or king of a country give out the medals to the people who earned them.

So if you see someone with a shiny medal on their jacket, it might mean that they have done something really amazing to help their country, like fighting in a war or helping people during a disaster. And that medal is their way of showing the world that they are a true hero!
