Civil right acts in the United States

Civil Rights Acts are laws passed in the United States to stop people from being treated differently because of their race, color, sex, national origin, or religion. They make sure that everyone is given the same basic rights and protections under the law. The first Civil Rights Act was passed in 1957 and since then, several more have been passed, so that everyone has more rights and freedoms.
