Clapper bridge

Have you ever walked over a bridge made out of wood or concrete? Well, a clapper bridge is a special type of bridge that is made out of big stones. Imagine putting down giant rocks to make a pathway over a river or stream - that's basically what a clapper bridge is!

The cool thing about a clapper bridge is that the rocks are placed in a way that creates a little dip in the middle of the bridge. This is called the "clapper", and it's where the water from the river or stream flows through. It's like a little bathtub for the river!

People have been making clapper bridges for a really long time - even before they had fancy tools and machines to help them. They had to use their hands and some special skills to make sure the rocks fit together just right. That's why clapper bridges are usually found in places with lots of big rocks, like in the countryside or near mountains.

Even though clapper bridges are really old, they can still be used today! People like to walk on them and even take pictures. They're a special type of bridge that reminds us of how people used to live a long, long time ago.
