Classical Realism

Classical Realism is a way of looking at the world and the way it works. It's based on the idea that things exist in the world as they are – not as we want them to be. It also says that states are the most important actors in international foreign policy and they act in their own self-interest. Basically, states are more likely to think of themselves than others and try to get what they want. This can mean competing with other states in different areas such as politics, economics, and military.
